Yesterday I sort of started off on one of my favourite desires in life.. to be able to play cricket in a cricket playing nation other than india.
what better place to play in - than england.
the way they play the game is slightly different. be it the bowling strategy or the pace of the game.
its like a polite 'well played' and a cool 'good shot' now and then - from the opposition.
i scored 21 runs.. didnt get out.. played very much in a 'dravidish' mode. the pitch was quite dampish.. it was drizzling initially and so the outfield was a bit slippery.
went 3 down and stayed for a long long time. patiently holding up one end. I also realised that i had become a bit out of touch after joining IBM. so need to get some practice in.
also bowled a couple of overs - didnt get any wickets, but i was more happy with my bowling.. the line was quite good.
its all about being focused now. get into training sessions regularly and improve on some of the finer points.
a good start i would say. other than that, cooking as usual.
need to talk to my dad on some batting tips. comeon dad, show some enthu - learn to operate the computer and start replying to my blog.. :))

Happy B'day Rithu
Hi Rithu,
Here's wishing you a very happy birthday. May the Good God bless you with abundant happiness and success every day.
All the best! Couldnt call you. But then you have a message in my blog. something which you can read whenever you wish like.
I am trying to create a new trend by blogging rather than calling.
Take care and have fun.
Luv,
Satish Viswanathan.

Good to know!!
Good to know that my dad in law is now fine and is discharged from hospital. Thats a big news which came through in the past few days.
This Easter weekend was a bit boring in many ways,no work to do, not much to plan.. ofcourse those who had families here with them, or those who had some good friends circle had a good time travelling places.
I always thought that I am a keen traveller, but you need a good group to make it happen... or else it could just about not take off as expected.
My cooking has come leaps and bounds.. the beans-vendakai-kathirikai starrer sambhar on saturday was a big hit. it ran for many cookers of rice.
The chana masala on monday was also a run away hit with the song - 'chana garam garam' - being the highlight.
I need a better story - read 'sambhar podi'. Once I get that, the production would be of a better technical quality - read taste.
rest alls fine in london.. spring is in now and its getting quite hot and fine.
put on a couple of kilos over the weekend - not doing anything but eating/sleeping and cooking. Need to play some squash and get over things.
Satish.

A small prayer for you.
My father-in-law (read father) is not feeling well. He has been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai today. Ever since I got this news today morning, some part of myself is not here. Its right there - thinking what has happened and hows he doing.
I am praying for him here, silently and sincerely.
Hoping to hear some news on how he is recovering.
Your entire family is standing by you, for you.
God Bless!
Satish Viswanathan.
